About Me

Lance SmithMy name is Lance Smith. I live in the small Ohio town of Kettering, where I live with my beautiful wife, Rhonda. I enjoy the outdoors, including camping, hiking, fishing, rafting, and mountain biking. I have been all around the country from east coast to west, to places such as Anchorage, Alaska, Muir Woods in California, Yosemite National Park in California, Zion National Park in Utah, and the Great Smoky Mountains, in Tennessee/North Carolina. I hope to someday move to North Carolina. Click here to see my Flickr map.

I have a degree in Visual Communications from Sinclair Community College, and am currently pursuing a degree in Organizational Leadership from Wright State University, in Dayton. I have several years of experience in IT/Web Development. I have been working with computers for over 20 years, programming for about 12, and doing Web development for 8. I am a senior application engineer at O'Neil & Associates, where I do Web development with Adobe ColdFusion. I am also a part-time instructor at Sinclair Community College, where I teach Web development and design. See more of my freelance Web Development work here.

I am a technoholic--addicted to anything electronic that flashes, buzzes, or blinks. I am on the Internet anywhere from 10-15 hours per day, and enjoy seeing the new trends becoming available in the Web space. I love being on the leading edge of this rapidly growing phenomenon known as the Web, and look forward to what the future has to offer.

...He was always willing to step up and assist me with a quick turn-around even with his own full workload. Lance is always positive and has a wonderful work ethic - it was always a pleasure to work with Lance.

Art Director, Berry Network, Inc.

I have been developing with ColdFusion for about 8 years. I absolutely love the technology--it is easy to implement, yet powerful and secure enough to be used by even the U.S. Government. I also like the CF community of developers. ColdFusion ties in seamlessly with the Adobe (formerly Macromedia) suite of products, including Flash and Dreamweaver, two of the most widely adopted Web applications in the world. Unless my career steers me otherwise, I intend to continue using CF for a very long time.

I am also very interested in the visual aspect of life. I've always enjoyed photography, and since the dawn of digital cameras haven't been able to stop taking photos. I've always enjoyed photography as a therapeutic type of activity. I try to make all my photos available on Flickr
